Smile4Life

Promoting a healthy smile

The aim of the Smile4Life framework is to reduce tooth decay in children and promotes a solid foundation for good oral health for life.

Cumbria County Council has teamed up with its NHS partners to provide the Smile4Life framework and Woodend Country Childcare are actively taking part as we appreciate the importance of educating the children in our nursery about the importance of looking after their teeth and oral health. We will continue to work within the framework and improve practices, so we can provide tips and advice to our parents to help them in maintaining the best oral care for their children.

Smile 4 Life Champions at Woodend

Claire and Hanah are our Smile4Life Champions; their role is to promote healthy teeth and follow the guidelines set out by Smile4Life in each of our rooms. They will actively be looking for new ways to encourage our children to become their very own ‘Healthy Teeth – Healthy Me’ Champions.

Claire and Hanah will along with the other members of our team receive regular training from our local NHS consultant. To obtain top accreditation we will be providing evidence of our work as well as give feedback from the children and their parents.
